With the turn of the new year, yay 2018!, and a recent birthday, I’ve reflected on things that have to lead to my growth as a blogger and a person. With each passing year, it feels like a lifetime and just a few days have passed. Sometimes, I can’t help but darkly wonder, what did I do this whole year? Looking back at your growth and reestablishing goals is one of my resolutions. How can you measure yourself if you cannot see where you started? One CrafDIY Girl has grown in the past year to a place of travel, adventure, as well as DIY. I’ve been thankful for the opportunities and connections that blogging has allowed me. More importantly, I’m thankful it has me constantly wondering, why? What are my goals for blogging, the One CrafDIY Girl brand, and my career path in the future. Through many days of introspection, I’ve written down some realizations that i’ll use to catalogue my progress throughout the year.
A lot has happened this year. You’ve definitely grown as a person and so has your blog. In 2019, I want you to remember these important goals you had for yourself.
I loathe this nagging phrase. BUT, you never regret working out. Even if it’s 20 minutes, it’s important for your sleep and your skin.
Don’t feel guilty about getting enough sleep
You have a long to-do list, I know. Don’t feel guilty if you sleep in. Your body is telling you something. You work hard, overnight shifts. Your body needs this time to recharge.
Everything in moderation
So, you didn’t eat healthy today? It’s okay. You were living your life. Delicious food exists so that you can try it. Don’t pass up an opportunity to try something new, just moderate how much you have.
Don’t say no to adventures
If you come across an opportunity, don’t say no. Your friend wants you to go on a really fun adventure but your work schedule prohibits it? Find another time where you can connect OR plan something completely new so you never feel that guilt of “missing out”.
Make the most time with friends and family
I’ve realized my family, like me, are getting older. Life changes make it hard to connect and it’s more important than ever to spend time with the people that give you the positive environment you need to refresh.
Everyone has bills
I’ve found myself constantly overwhelmed with adulthood. The reoccurring payments sometimes make it impossible to save money on a monthly basis. I constantly compare myself to those of my peers. Am I ahead? Am I behind? These are good things to worry about, but you need to remember that everyone has bills. Large or small. Use them as a motivator, not an anchor.
Take care of your skin
In turning 26, I’ve realized that taking care of yourself is SO important. You get one body, and it’s in it for the long haul. I’ve recently started using Vllcode’s under eye cream to lighten the dark circles under my eyes. The formula is smooth and I definitely get the feeling that my skin is softer. I’ve started to form tiny, happy feet when I smile and Vllcode’s formula has certainly helped reduce and slow down this process. In entering my late twenties, now is the time to preventatively manage your skin. I’ve seen a lot of improvement in the 3 weeks i’ve been trailing this product. Plus, Vllcode’s formula is full of natural occurring ingredients that your skin craves. As I get older, I realize that sleep and exercise are not enough to combat against aging, so it’s essential to have good skin care products.
Change the situations in life that make you unhappy
This is a huge one for me. The acting of letting go is hard, especially when you don’t see that next destination. I’m very scared to jump when I don’t know where i’m going to land. However, you need this change to let go of the things in life that are making you unhappy.
Drink more water
“Does seltzer count?”
Look at your to-do list as half full
Stop looking at all the things you didn’t accomplish. Instead, look at what you have. This is always a hard one for me. I want things to be done promptly, I hate growing a to-do list for tomorrow. However, sometimes, knowing your limits and knowing that instead of rushing around all day, you caught up with a friend or read a few more pages of your book, is something worth relishing.
Learn some new vocab
Learning new vocab is keeping my mind fresh while learning something new. Find new ways to express yourself.
Follow your passions
In 2018, I’ve drafted a business proposal. I want to share my creativity with more people and grow a community filled with passionate creatives.
It’s going to be a great year, don’t you think?
