Late summer style is always bittersweet. I finally have the breezy summer wardrobe I’ve cultivated all season, when suddenly the cold night air begins to nip at my sandaled feet. However, one trend I’ve been coveting is not dependent on warm weather ; shaped clips. I love how they frame your already gorgeous locks while tying down misbehaving strands – because one thing I’ll never get a handle on is the humidity’s effect on my hair.
I’ve come to terms that no magic product exists to aid me in my heated frizz and have resorted to hair styles that conceal. This is exactly why Chloe & Isabel’s collaboration with Jen Atkin has been essential to my summer style. This gold clip is eye catching and versitle – I’ve seen many tutorials on Pinterest illustrating amazing hair styles with this gem. While I adore this peice from their collection, the entirety of this line is worth a look (here).
In the picture above I actually braided my hair into pigtails, bunched and clipped – creating the easiest summer up-do of all time. The clip itself is very sturdy and thick, making it ideal for beauties with thick hair. Since my hair is a little finer, I had to snap up my hair in order for the clip to hold, but once it snapped it I could’ve been a bull rider. However, there’s an option for a smaller ring clip, which would work great for more intricate hair styles or finer hair types. The array of colors also coordinates with anyone’s metallic preference, mine of course is gold.
I wore mine out while Visting a family friend and her adorable little grandchildren. Of course I begged to use her swing – because on the inside I’m really a ten year old that wishes art class would never end.
