I’m sure you’ve heard of the magical properties of Sharpie markers and their ability to create permanent designs on ceramics. I scored these blank canvas mugs from the thrift store to create these DIY sharpie mugs.
Of course, the design option are limitless. This project is not only great for kids, but is a perfect way to savor your coffee or tea with a homemade memory. By following the directions in this tutorial you can create a work of art that is permanent and dishwasher safe.

Step one: Clean the surface of your mug and dry well.
Step two: Draw your design as desired onto your mug. You can use nail polish remover to remove any mistakes or blemishes.
Step three: place mugs in the oven and then preheat to 350 degrees. This prevents cracking. Cook mugs for 30 minutes. Then shut off the oven and allow the mugs to cool slowly. If you take them out of the oven, the rapid cooling could cause cracking.
