I feel a chill in the breeze today, do you? The spooky magic of All Hallows’ eve is nearing closer. With the eve of the 13th upon us I dare say I’ll lock my door extra right this evening, if only to keep out superstition.
Of course, I’m celebrating this spooKDIY time of year with some very special crafty inspiration and projects. To kick off Craftoween we have this spooky spider collar shirt, a quick and easy project for curling up with a scary story. This DIY spider web collar is so easy and a casual update to any old shirt that needs some festive love. I always think the real importance is in the details and this spider web collar really the profile. This look always pairs well with men looking for a more casual spooky outfit.
1. Watch and iron your collar to create a smooth, clean surface.
2. Trace with washable marker, or boldly free-hand the spiderweb design using a needle and thread. I started vertically (drawing the outward part of the web), and then drew the horizontal (video to below!).
3. Sew one stitch forward, then, going back through the same hole, sew one back to create that dark solid line. Repeat Repeat Repeat you little spider, you.
4. Put on a spooky movie (optional and very recommended)
