Pimm’s cup, a leisurely drink enjoyed by English party-goers, is a refreshing summer beverage whose recipe is actually a well kept secret. By well kept, I mean there’s only six or seven people in the world whom know how to make a “real” Pimm’s.
I’d be lying if i didn’t admit that I first heard of Pimm’s from my obsession with love stories gone silver screen. The most recent of these reads was Me Before You, which was based in England. In one scene our heroine is sipping a Pimm’s at a wedding, which seems to be a traditional occurrence to upper class Brits. Which of course had me running to Pinterest to ponder what this light delicious beverage must be?
To my surprise I was overwhelmed with different techniques and ingredients that went into the same “classic” recipe. So, I’ve conferred that this tasty drink is really based on preference and taste – as U.S. Statesiders will probably never know the ingredients of a “true” Pimm’s.
Pimm’s is a blank liqueur that typically blank. Tastes like if a dark and stormy was a sweet, crisp and slightly refreshing sangria. Which to some hat may sound like ” not at all” but when you a take a sip you’ll get my drift. It looks dark too, making a rich Amber color when mixed with the lemon soda. Collecting my resources, I chose what looked easiest and most delicious – full recipe below
