I’ve always thought ships in a bottle were magical. A perfect combination of vintage charm and serious skill. How does one even build a tiny ship in there? – some serious old school Operation ( the game with the big beeping red nose) am I right?
When Nautical Gin asked influencers to create a spin on the classic gin gimlet, I knew that the marine theme and my love for these little boats found a way to fruition. A traditional gimlet is simple syrup, lime and gin – making it simple & refreshing. I wanted to capture these classic elements while adding a sweet, bubbly twist. Instead of simple syrup I added bubbles and sweetness in the form of San Pellegrino. I chose the grapefruit, as it traditionally pairs well with the piney flavors in gin. However, I will be trying the other flavors as well! To accentuate the herby flavors in Nautical Gin, I topped with a sprig of rosemary for a subtle flavor.
Ingredients
4 oz Nautical Gin
Juice from 1/2 fresh lime
1 can grapefruit San Pellegrino
Rosemary spring and fresh lime (optional )
Pour fresh squeezed lime juice and gin in a shaker with ice. Shake, strain & pour into highball glass. Top with San Pellegrino to taste. Fresh lime and rosemary spring to garnish
