Over the past two months my roommate and I have been cultivating a space we are eager to come home to. Despite some road blocks (still have no couch – a story for another day), we are slowly, but surely, creating a space we are proud of. One of the things we enjoy is creating, especially in our kitchen. While she is definitely more the cook in the house, I love to create cocktails – which is one reason I have many recipes as well as DIY bar carts in my future. For one reason or another, it makes me feel more adult and closer to the spirit of Martha Stewart.
Recently, I came across a local product that’s style and flavor was really unique. I’ve recently become a gin advocate, and the coriander undertones of this brew from Nashua, NH inspired a cheers to fall. This simple and easy take on a gin fizz was tart & sweet, the perfect after work drink to pair with chilly nights.
Cranberry Gin Fizz
Cranberry Pomegranate juice
Rosemary Simple Syrup (simple syrup with rosemary tossed in at the end)
- Create your simple syrup by bringing 1 c. water to a boil. Add in 1 c. sugar and stir until dissolved. Remove from heat and add 1 spring Rosemary. Allow to sit for 10-15 minutes, and then remove rosemary spring. (Before adding the rosemary I bottled half for later – this makes ~1 cup)
- Combine 1 part gin with 1 part juice into shaker. Squeeze juice of 1/2 lemon & 1 tbsp Rosemary simple syrup. Shake and pour over ice.
- Shake, pour over ice and top with club soda to taste.
