As I’ve become more seasoned in the adult world, I’ve come to admire the intention of a hand written letter. While emails ans texts are convenient methods that take less than a minute, a hand written note is a perfect way to show the addressed you spent precious time and thought on them. What better way to spread good will during the holidays than a hand made card ?
Recently I teamed up with Paper Source, who sent me this delicious holiday hued stationary and a custom embosser to try. I loved the idea of the embosser as a subtle stamp, the raised edge a little more vintage than your average sticker. I received a code with the embosser to create a design, which I chose and ordered. I chose a template that highlighted my name, Instagram & area code because I wanted a more professional design that I could use all year (think double as business cards!). However, the site offers a wide variety of templates that are perfect for families, couples and include many great monogram options ! Choosing a holiday phrase to your stamp would be perfect too. After ordering my template, the impression plate was sent to me in about a week. It clicked right into the machine and I was ready to impress!
Vintage music sheets are a delicate decorative paper and also a usual cheap thrill from your local thrift store. These sheets were swiped from an old musical whose cover was not spared & now shall forever remain anonymous – For purposes of this holiday post we shall believe that the tunes are intended to be merry. & For the price of 2.99$ this musical had 200 sheets of useable paper, making it pennies per sheet.
I’m by no means a straight cutter, normally my precision cuts are made with a scrap booking paper cutter. However, I was able to manage by tracing the edge of these cards from Paper Source onto the music sheets & cutting about 1/2 inch into the edge. This small alteration is what makes the card liner fit into the envelope and reveal the “sticky part” on the lip.
I also love vintage music sheets because hey soak up the ink of a stamp very well, which is why I used this happy holidays stamp I snagged for $1 at Micheal’s.
Just press align the gold foil sticker with the stamp, press “through the resistance” as per factory instructions and reveal your impression!
